According to recent information from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, scientific calculations indicate that by 2025, the fertilizer utilization rate for China’s three major grain crops—wheat, corn, and rice—will reach 43.3%, an increase of 3.1 percentage points compared to 2020. Since the start of the 14th Five-Year Plan period, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs has continued to advance initiatives to reduce fertilizer use while improving efficiency. It has diligently implemented pilot projects for green crop-livestock recycling, continuously deepened soil testing and formula-based fertilization, promoted the integrated application of technology models for reduced use and increased efficiency, and actively fostered specialized service organizations for scientific fertilization. These efforts have effectively supported the steady improvement in fertilizer utilization efficiency. (Xinhua News Agency)
