The Department of Industry and Information Technology of Shandong Province and several other departments jointly issued the "Work Plan for Stabilizing Growth in Shandong's Non-Ferrous Metals Industry," which states that the province will support enterprises in signing long-term copper concentrate procurement agreements with mining companies in countries such as Chile and Peru, as well as establishing overseas bauxite mining bases or signing long-term procurement agreements with countries such as Guinea and Australia, to build stable overseas supply chains and ensure a steady supply of copper concentrate raw materials. The plan encourages and supports enterprises with international competitiveness and operational experience to actively acquire high-quality strategic mineral resources, such as copper and aluminum, on a global scale through market-oriented approaches. It prioritizes promoting cooperation in mineral exploration and development in resource-rich regions, including along the "Belt and Road" route and in Africa, to enhance the security of the province’s industrial and supply chains.
