Svmuu News: According to Axios, two sources familiar with the matter revealed that U.S. Treasury Secretary Bessent told Donald Trump on Sunday evening that the federal investigation into the chairman of Federal Reserve had been “messed up” and could have a negative impact on financial markets.A source familiar with Basent’s conversation with Donald Trump said, “The Secretary is very unhappy, and he has made that clear to the President.” Currently, Donald Trump appears to be deliberately distancing itself from the investigation into Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell. The source stated that U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro’s Washington office initiated the investigation without prior notification to the Treasury Department, senior White House officials, or the Justice Department headquarters. Another source indicated that Bessent “believed Jerome Powell would step down when the President appointed a new Federal Reserve chairman. But that won’t happen now.Jerome Powell’s stance is now even tougher. This has really made a mess of things.” However, sources noted that during his conversation with Donald Trump, Bessent did not question the necessity of investigating Jerome Powell, nor was he defending the Federal Reserve chairman.
