Man Accused of Stealing Over $11 Million in XRP Files Counterclaim Against the Widow of Country Music Legend George Jones
Svmuu News: Kirk West, a man from Tennessee, has recently filed a counterclaim against Nancy Jones, the widow of country music legend George Jones, alleging that she stole over $11 million worth of XRP from him. Previously, West was accused of stealing approximately $400,000 in cash and over 5.5 million XRP tokens, leading to his arrest. In his counterclaim, West denies the theft allegations, asserting that the relevant crypto assets were accumulated through “successful investments” made during their relationship and that he is legally entitled to a portion of the assets. He also accuses Nancy Jones of fraud and defamation. Public records show that the two met and began a romantic relationship after George Jones passed away in 2013. West, who describes himself as a “crypto expert,” had advised Jones to invest in various cryptocurrencies, including XRP, ETH, DOGE, SHIB, and XLM. Jones, however, alleges that after being evicted from her residence, West took a hardware wallet containing private keys without permission, resulting in the disappearance of some of the crypto assets. To date, Jones has recovered approximately 5 million XRP, but about 483,000 XRP remain unaccounted for. In his latest counterclaim, West is seeking a division of assets, including cryptocurrency, approximately $5 million in precious metals, and $1 million in cash. The case is still pending. (Decrypt)
