Svmuu News Federal Reserve Kashkari stated that Donald Trump the government’s actions over the past year regarding Federal Reserve “are essentially a monetary policy issue.” Previously, the Department of Justice led a criminal investigation into Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell. In an interview, Kashkari said, “The escalation of the situation over the past year is essentially a monetary policy issue. I think the Chairman explained this accurately.”Kashkari noted that this moment presents an opportunity “to explain to our constituents and the American people why the independence of the Federal Reserve is so crucial to the health and vitality of the U.S. economy.” Kashkari also stated, “I don’t think there was a need to cut rates in January,” but added that there might be some room for rate cuts later this year, though he noted that it is “too early” to say.(Jin Shi)
