Institution: Weak employment data is unlikely to alter expectations for interest rate cuts in Federal Reserve
Svmuu News: Sonu Varghese, an analyst at Carson Group, said that the poor February jobs data is unlikely to alter expectations for interest rate cuts by the Federal Reserve this year (Federal Reserve). He noted that the report “serves as a reminder that risks to the labor market have not yet been eliminated.”On the other hand, “inflation has remained stubbornly high even before the looming energy price shocks and AI-related bottlenecks.”" Varghese expects these two major factors to "prompt the Federal Reserve to remain cautious on interest rate cuts—a rate cut is unlikely in the near term." The market currently widely expects only one rate cut this year. (Jin Shi)
