Svmuu News OpenAI has launched an AI agent designed to help security teams discover and fix vulnerabilities in large databases, a move that could reduce demand for traditional cybersecurity companies. In a statement on Friday, OpenAI said the agent, named Codex Security, can identify cybersecurity vulnerabilities and propose solutions before fixing the errors. The company stated that the tool is designed to "operate at scale" and provide "easily acceptable patches," allowing developers to focus on higher-level tasks. The company also revealed that the agent tool has been used to scan and identify security vulnerabilities in open-source code repositories. This product competes with Anthropic PBC's Claude Code Security, which can also find vulnerabilities and suggest fixes. Last month, the release of Claude's new security tool led to a decline in cybersecurity stocks. At that time, Crowdstrike and Cloudflare both fell by 8%.
