U.S. F-35 Stealth Fighter Allegedly Hit by Iran
Svmuu News According to two informed sources, a U.S. F-35 fighter jet made an emergency landing at a U.S. Air Force base in the Middle East after being struck by what is suspected to be Iranian fire. Captain Tim Hawkins, a spokesperson for U.S. Central Command, stated that the fifth-generation stealth aircraft was conducting a combat mission over Iran and was forced to make an emergency landing. Hawkins said the aircraft landed safely and the incident is under investigation. This would mark the first time Iran has hit a U.S. aircraft since the war broke out in late February. Both the U.S. and Israel have used F-35 fighters in the conflict, with each aircraft costing over $100 million. This emergency landing comes as senior U.S. officials continue to claim broad success in their military operations against Iran. Defense Secretary Hegses stated on Thursday morning that the U.S. is "achieving decisive victory" and that Iran's air defense systems have been "destroyed." (CNN)
