Iranian Foreign Minister Seeks Complete End to War, Not Temporary Ceasefire
Svmuu News According to Kyodo News on the 21st, Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi stated that Iran hopes for a complete, comprehensive, and lasting end to the war, rather than a temporary ceasefire. In a telephone interview with Kyodo News reporters on the 20th, Araghchi said that the attacks by the United States and Israel on Iran were illegal and unjustified acts of aggression, and he hopes the world will unite to voice opposition. Several countries have already begun pushing for a ceasefire, but Iran only considers solutions that end the war once and for all. Iran does not accept a temporary ceasefire but demands a comprehensive end to the war, including ensuring that Iran is no longer attacked and compensating Iran for the losses it has suffered. Araghchi also stated that he does not believe the United States is prepared for negotiations. The report said Araghchi also expressed willingness to allow Japanese-related vessels to pass through the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial energy transportation route, after consultations with Japan.
