Iran stated that the actions it took were in self-defense and were not directed against countries in the region
Svmuu News: On March 30 local time, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Baghaei stated at a regular press conference that Iran’s actions were in self-defense and were not directed against any regional countries. He called on relevant parties to distinguish between the two, emphasizing that Iran’s actions should not be viewed as hostile acts against any country. He also expressed hope that neighboring countries would uphold their obligations under international law, their moral responsibilities, and the principles of good-neighborliness, and would not allow their territories and facilities to be used by the United States and Israel to launch attacks against neighboring countries. Baghaei noted that the current conflict is not only directed against Iran but may also sow the seeds of division and instability for the region’s future. He pointed out that the region’s future should be built on the foundations of peace, cooperation, and good-neighborliness, which requires all parties to maintain a prudent stance in the current situation. Baghaei emphasized that Iran should not be expected to exercise unilateral restraint in the face of aggression, and stated that the U.S. and Israel are currently using the facilities of regional countries to carry out related operations.
