Svmuu News The Polygon Foundation announced that the Giugliano hard fork will be activated on the mainnet on April 8, expected at block height 85,268,500, around 14:00 UTC. This upgrade aims to improve network finality speed by allowing blocks to be broadcast earlier, introducing fee parameters in block headers, and adding RPC support for fee data.
The upgrade was successfully tested on the Amoy testnet last month, with data showing a reduction in finality time by approximately 2 seconds. The official notice reminds node operators to update Bor to v2.7.0 or Erigon to v3.5.0 before the upgrade. This hard fork is part of Polygon's "Gigagas" scaling roadmap, focusing on enhancing network performance and user experience.
