The Iranian Embassy in Austria responded the same day, stating that a blockade cannot "open" the Strait of Hormuz. The embassy wrote on social media: "A simple note for those concerned: A blockade is a blockade. It cannot 'open' the Strait of Hormuz; it only restricts it. The only way out of this self-inflicted predicament is to remain open and flexible in negotiations. Follow reason." (Xinhua News Agency)
