Svmuu News Payment giant American Express announced it is accelerating its expansion into the AI payments field and launching a developer toolkit for "Agentic Commerce." The company has committed to providing purchase protection for erroneous transactions generated by registered AI agents. This toolkit aims to support AI agents in conducting economic activities such as payments on behalf of users. Simultaneously, it reduces the risk of fraud and disputes through mechanisms such as only opening payment credentials to verified agents and authenticating cardholder identities.
Furthermore, American Express noted that it already has mature mechanisms in place to handle transaction disputes, which can provide safeguards for AI agent misoperations, thereby enhancing user trust and driving transaction volume growth. The company has also formulated "multiple plans" regarding stablecoins. It is reported that these plans may explore stablecoin settlement scenarios rather than payments, but specific details have not been disclosed. (Fortune)
