U.S. Official: U.S. Has Not Implemented a Full Blockade of the Strait of Hormuz
Svmuu News A U.S. official stated that the U.S. Navy is currently not escorting any vessels through the Strait of Hormuz, but has communicated to merchant ships (those not entering or leaving Iranian ports) that the waterway is safe and encouraged passage. The official clarified that the U.S. has not implemented a full blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, but only a blockade on vessels entering and leaving Iranian ports along the entire Iranian coastline. The official also mentioned that the U.S. dispatched a destroyer through the Strait of Hormuz last weekend to demonstrate that there is a safe passage route through the waterway. (Jin10)
