Expectations for Fed Rate Cuts Heat Up, Probability of June Cut Rises to 7.1%
Svmuu News According to CME's "FedWatch Tool": The probability of the Fed raising rates by 25 basis points in April is 0.5%, while the probability of keeping rates unchanged is 99.5% (unchanged from this morning). The probability of a cumulative 25 basis point rate cut by the Fed by June is 7.1%, the probability of keeping rates unchanged is 92.4%, and the probability of a cumulative 25 basis point rate hike is 0.5% (compared to 1.4%, 98%, and 0.5% respectively this morning). The probability of a cumulative 25 basis point rate cut by the Fed by July is 18.1%, the probability of keeping rates unchanged is 80.6%, and the probability of a cumulative 25 basis point rate hike is 0.4% (compared to 9.7%, 89.7%, and 0.5% respectively this morning).
