Vitalik Buterin: Ethereum's Four-Year Roadmap Focuses on Scaling and Quantum Security
Svmuu News: Vitalik Buterin stated at the Hong Kong Web3 Carnival that the two core functions of the Ethereum protocol are serving as a public bulletin board and as a shared digital object. The value of decentralized applications lies in ensuring self-sovereign security, verifiability, fair participation, and user aggregation. The roadmap for the next four years includes short-term scaling, launching CKEVM to support more complex computations, early preparations for post-quantum cryptography, and account abstraction to support smart contract wallets and quantum-resistant signatures. Long-term goals are to maximize secure consensus, formal verification, ultimate simplicity, and quantum security. Finality will be achieved within 1 to 3 slots, zkVM will support devices like mobile phones for chain verification, with the target of achieving large-scale expansion by 2028. Ethereum's goal is to become the most secure and decentralized chain.
