Svmuu News Amazon announced it will invest up to an additional $25 billion in Anthropic, including an initial $5 billion and up to $20 billion based on future commercial milestones. This is a further increase on top of the previous investment of approximately $8 billion.
According to the agreement, Anthropic will invest over $100 billion in using Amazon's cloud infrastructure over the next 10 years to support its model training and scaling needs. The collaboration will also focus on Amazon's self-developed AI chips (such as the Trainium series), with an expected computing power of approximately 1GW available by the end of this year and a long-term target of up to 5GW.
This transaction marks a further deepening of the relationship between the two parties: Anthropic accelerates access to computing resources to advance model development, while Amazon leverages this to expand its advantage in the AI infrastructure field and increase market adoption of its self-developed chips.
Previously, Amazon had also announced plans to invest up to $50 billion in OpenAI, indicating its comprehensive push to strengthen its position in the AI sector. (Nikkei)
