Svmuu News U.S. President Trump has nominated Christopher Phelan to serve as Chair of the White House Council of Economic Advisers, filling the vacancy left after the committee's former chair, Stephen Milan, was appointed as a Governor of the Federal Reserve Board in 2025. This nomination has been submitted to the U.S. Senate for approval. Phelan holds a Ph.D. in Economics, having graduated from Duke University and the University of Chicago. He previously served as a senior economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis and is currently a professor of economics at the University of Minnesota, specializing in macroeconomic theory, incentive mechanisms, and game theory of inequality.
