Svmuu Svmuu News: The U.S. Central Command stated that on May 7, when a U.S. Navy guided-missile destroyer was transiting the Strait of Hormuz towards the Gulf of Oman, U.S. forces intercepted an unprovoked attack by Iran and conducted self-defense strikes. As the destroyers USS Truxtun, USS Rafael Peralta, and USS Mason passed through this international waterway, Iranian forces launched multiple missiles, drones, and dispatched several small boats. The attack resulted in no damage to U.S. assets.
The U.S. Central Command neutralized the incoming threats and struck the Iranian military facilities responsible for the attack on U.S. forces, including missile and drone launch sites, command and control centers, as well as intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance nodes. The Central Command has no intention of escalating the situation but remains postured and ready to protect U.S. forces. (Jin Shi)
