Iran reaffirms its "jurisdiction and oversight" over the Strait of Hormuz
Svmuu News: Late on the 20th, Iran's new agency for managing the Strait of Hormuz, the "Persian Gulf Strait Authority," issued a statement on social media, reiterating Tehran's "management and supervision scope" concerning the strait and emphasizing that vessels transiting the relevant waters must coordinate with Iran and obtain permission. According to the statement, the Iranian management scope "extends eastward from the line connecting Iran's Mobarak Mountain and the southern part of Fujairah, UAE, to the line connecting the westernmost point of Iran's Qeshm Island and Umm Al Quwain, UAE, in the west." The statement said that within the above-mentioned scope, all navigation activities of vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz must coordinate with and obtain permission from the "Persian Gulf Strait Authority."
