Iranian Official: Final Agreement with the US Must Align with Iran's National Interests
Svmuu reported on the 27th, according to Iran's Tasnim News Agency, Boroujerdi, a member of the Iranian Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, stated that the final agreement signed with the United States must align with Iran's national interests. Boroujerdi said that according to the preliminary draft agreement between Iran and the US, the first step for the US would be to commit to a comprehensive 60-day ceasefire on all fronts, including Lebanon. The draft agreement also calls for the unfreezing of most of Iran's frozen assets and the lifting of the maritime blockade. Boroujerdi stated that Iran's diplomatic institutions and state system do not make decisions based on posts by US President Donald Trump. For Iran, what matters is the final outcome of the negotiations. Any document ultimately signed must be formulated within the framework of Iran's red lines and serve the interests of the Iranian people and the state. (Xinhua News Agency)
