Svmuu News, Tether AI has officially open-sourced TurboQuant technology and integrated it into the QVAC SDK version 0.12.0. Based on a memory compression algorithm from Google Research, this technology can compress the KV cache of large language models by up to 5 times with virtually no loss in output quality, significantly reducing device memory pressure.
TurboQuant is adaptable to laptops, smartphones, consumer-grade GPUs, edge devices, and decentralized inference networks, enabling local AI to handle complex tasks smoothly while balancing data privacy with usage efficiency. The technology is now available to developers worldwide through Fabric. Tether stated that this move aims to liberate AI from the constraints of centralized cloud services and accelerate the adoption of local and decentralized AI ecosystems. (Tether.io)
