Iranian media have released the detailed terms of the U.S.-Iran memorandum of understanding, including the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and the release of $24 billion in frozen Iranian funds
Svmuu News: Iran's Mehr News Agency has released the detailed terms of the 14-point Memorandum of Understanding between Iran and the U.S.: 1. A permanent and immediate cessation of hostilities on all fronts, including Lebanon. 2. The U.S. commits to non-interference in Iran's internal affairs and to respecting Iran's sovereignty. 3. Complete lifting of the naval blockade against Iran within 30 days. 4. The U.S. commits to withdrawing its troops from the vicinity of Iran. 5. Under Iran’s arrangements, the Strait of Hormuz will be reopened within 30 days. 6. Sanctions on the sale of Iranian oil, petrochemical products, and their derivatives will be suspended, and Iran will be permitted full access to its financial resources. 7. The United States and its allies are required to provide Iran with a reconstruction plan worth at least $300 billion. 8. Reach a final agreement on the nuclear issue within 60 days and fully lift all primary and secondary U.S. sanctions against Iran, as well as resolutions of the UN Security Council and the IAEA Board of Governors. 9. Reaffirm Iran’s commitment under the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons not to develop nuclear weapons. 10. During the negotiations, the United States commits not to deploy additional troops to the region or impose new sanctions. 11. During the 60-day final negotiation period, $24 billion in frozen funds shall be released. Half of this amount must be provided to Iran before negotiations begin. 12. Establish a monitoring mechanism to ensure implementation of the agreement. 13. The final agreement will be approved by a United Nations Security Council resolution. 14. Final negotiations will begin only after half of Iran’s frozen funds have been released, sanctions on Iranian oil have been suspended, and the naval blockade has been lifted. The final agreement will cover only the future of enriched uranium materials and enrichment processes, the lifting of sanctions, and Iran’s economic reconstruction plan. Issues regarding Iran’s missile program and its support for resistance groups have been explicitly removed from the agenda. (Jin Shi)
