Svmuu News: Police in Nanjing, Jiangsu, collaborated with the Chongzuo Border Management Detachment in Guangxi across provincial lines to successfully crack a major gold theft case with a value of 27 million yuan. The ringleaders, Wang and Tong, burdened by massive gambling debts, conspired with another accomplice to plan and carry out a theft at a luxury goods store in Jiangning District, Nanjing, stealing a total of 37 gold items weighing 27 kilograms. After the crime, the ringleader, Tong, took a ride-hailing vehicle south with part of the gold, intending to cross the border illegally via a backroad. He was precisely intercepted and apprehended by officers from the Aidian Border Police Station in Chongzuo, just 100 meters from the China-Vietnam border, where 8.75 kilograms of gold were seized on the spot. Subsequently, another accomplice, Wang, who had flown to Thailand, was apprehended in Bangkok and extradited back to China. Currently, all 11 suspects in the case have been brought to justice, and the entire 27 kilograms of stolen gold has been recovered. (China News Weekly)
