Svmuu News: Canada unveiled a strategy on Monday to accelerate the construction of nuclear reactors nationwide, with officials hoping to expand electricity generation while utilizing the country’s abundant reserves of high-grade uranium.
Officials said the goal is to build 10 new large-scale reactors across Canada, with construction on at least two of them set to begin by 2035. They also pledged to expedite regulatory approvals and establish a new financing framework by early next year, aimed at attracting capital from pension funds and sovereign wealth funds to kickstart the nuclear expansion plan.
