Armed clashes escalated on the 6th between the "Syrian Democratic Forces" (SDF), led by Syrian Kurdish militias, and forces of the Syrian Interim Government in Aleppo, the capital of Aleppo Province in northern Syria, resulting in multiple casualties, including civilians. According to the Syrian Arab News Agency, the SDF has launched attacks for three consecutive days, with the conflict continuing to escalate. Targets have included military deployment sites of the transitional government as well as residential areas, resulting in multiple casualties, including one soldier and three civilians. In a statement, the SDF accused “armed factions affiliated with the transitional government” of carrying out “indiscriminate” shelling of certain neighborhoods in Aleppo that day, resulting in one civilian death and 17 injuries.
