Two Departments Issue Measures for the Supervision and Administration of Rules for Online Trading Platforms
The State Administration for Market Regulation and the Cyberspace Administration of China have issued the "Measures for the Supervision and Administration of Rules on Online Trading Platforms." The measures stipulate that operators of online trading platforms with a large number of minor users or those that exert a significant influence on minors must adhere to the principles of openness, fairness, and impartiality. They are required to establish specific platform rules, clearly define the obligations of platform merchants regarding the online protection of minors in accordance with the law, and prominently notify minor users of their legally protected rights regarding online safety and the avenues for redress in the event of online harm.
