The HOH-70 full-temperature superconducting tokamak has successfully completed a 120-second steady-state long-pulse plasma run.
On the afternoon of January 6, Honghuang-70—the world’s first fully high-temperature superconducting tokamak fusion experimental device currently in operation—achieved a significant breakthrough by sustaining a 120-second steady-state long-pulse plasma during its 5,319th experiment. This experimental result signifies that Honghuang 70 has demonstrated reliable long-pulse operation capabilities, further validating the engineering reliability and operational stability of high-temperature superconducting tokamaks. According to Energy Singularity, the team plans to launch an AI-based real-time plasma control system in subsequent experiments with Honghuang 70, with the aim of achieving even better experimental results.
