Shandong: In 2026, the value added of the province’s non-ferrous metal industry (enterprises above a certain scale) is expected to grow by approximately 5% year-on-year.
The Department of Industry and Information Technology of Shandong Province, together with several other departments, jointly issued the "Work Plan for Stabilizing Growth in Shandong’s Non-ferrous Metals Industry." The primary objectives are as follows: by 2026, the added value of the province’s non-ferrous metals industry (for enterprises above designated size) will increase by approximately 5% year-on-year, with cathode copper production reaching approximately 1.7 million metric tons, representing a year-on-year increase of about 3%; the output of copper processed products will reach approximately 600,000 metric tons, representing a year-on-year increase of about 4%; the total output value of the copper industry will exceed 200 billion yuan, with comprehensive energy consumption in copper smelting and the comprehensive recovery rate of by-product metals reaching industry-leading levels; and the operating revenue of the aluminum industry will exceed 660 billion yuan, with the proportion of electrolytic aluminum production capacity meeting or exceeding energy efficiency benchmark levels exceeding 35%.
