U.S. Secretary of State Rubio said Wednesday that he will meet with Danish officials next week to discuss the issue of Greenland. U.S. President Donald Trump has recently reiterated on multiple occasions that he wishes to gain control of Greenland. When asked whether the United States would be willing to risk damaging NATO relations by taking military action, Rubio said: “‘If the president determines that U.S. national security is threatened, every president has the right to choose a military solution. As a diplomat… we always prefer to resolve issues through other means, including the situation in Venezuela.’”
