Donald Trump: U.S. defense budget for 2027 should be increased to $1.5 trillion
U.S. President Donald Trump stated that, following lengthy and difficult negotiations with senators, representatives, cabinet members, and other political representatives, I have decided that, in the national interest—especially during such turbulent and dangerous times—the 2027 military budget should not be $1 trillion, but rather $1.5 trillion. This will allow us to build the “army of our dreams.” Had it not been for the massive revenue generated by tariffs imposed on other countries, I would have maintained a budget of $1 trillion. However, thanks to these tariffs and the substantial revenue they generate, we are able to easily surpass the $1.5 trillion mark.
