European natural gas and electricity trading will be shifted to a 22-hour daily schedule to align with trading hours for other global energy products
To align with the trading hours of major global energy markets, European natural gas and electricity markets are moving forward with reforms to their trading mechanisms. On January 7, the Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) issued two statements announcing that, following the completion of necessary regulatory approvals and internal governance procedures, trading hours for natural gas and electricity contracts in the UK and the EU are scheduled to be extended to 22 hours per day starting February 23.
