The General Office of the Guangzhou Municipal People’s Government has released the “Guangzhou Plan for Accelerating the Development of an Advanced Manufacturing Powerhouse (2024–2035).” The plan states that the city will focus on the entire value chain of new energy vehicle R&D, manufacturing, and services, accelerating the formation of industrial chains for key components such as power batteries, drive motors, electronic control systems, and fuel cell stacks, and establishing a leading position in the "three-electric" systems (batteries, motors, and electronic control systems), as well as in sensors and specialized chips. The plan supports the construction of integrated innovation platforms for new energy vehicles, smart energy, and intelligent transportation, and accelerates the development of the National Innovation Center for Intelligent Connected Vehicles. The plan calls for exploring multi-scenario applications of autonomous driving technology based on the efficient coordination of vehicles, roads, networks, the cloud, and maps, and accelerating technological breakthroughs and industrial development in intelligent connected new energy vehicles. It also aims to expedite the construction of an intelligent connected vehicle industrial park, continuously advance the R&D and industrialization of smart electric vehicles, and strengthen testing and demonstration of intelligent connected vehicles.
