Umerov, Secretary of Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council, stated that during a working visit to Turkey, he met with Ibrahim Kalin, head of Turkey’s National Intelligence Organization. The two sides held detailed discussions on the current security challenges facing the region and the progress of the negotiation process, and discussed further coordination efforts in light of the situation on the front lines and the broader regional context. They also paid particular attention to humanitarian issues and the release of Ukrainian citizens from Russian captivity. Umerov noted that Turkey remains an important partner for Ukraine and one of the key platforms for dialogue. Currently, both countries are working to ensure that a new prisoner exchange takes place as soon as possible, while continuing to advance systematic cooperation between Kyiv and Ankara on issues of security and stability in the Black Sea region.
