Paul Chan, Secretary for Finance of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, delivered the 2026–2027 Budget to the Legislative Council today (the 25th). He stated that the low-altitude economy represents a new driver for promoting smart cities and integrated regional development. The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government has completed the first phase of legislative amendments and will further refine civil aviation laws and regulatory frameworks to lay the foundation for the long-term standardized development of the low-altitude economy and build a competitive ecosystem. The first batch of 32 “regulatory sandbox” projects has already undergone testing on designated flight routes. Some drone applications, such as building management and inspections, have entered practical operation. (Greater Bay Area Voice)
