Paul Chan: Hong Kong's first commercially operated autonomous transport system to launch within the year
Paul Chan, Secretary for Finance of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, delivered the 2026–2027 Budget to the Legislative Council today (the 25th). He stated that, while prioritizing road safety, the SAR Government is accelerating the development of autonomous and driverless vehicles on a large scale to achieve commercial operation, and is encouraging the industry to use Hong Kong as a platform to expand into overseas markets. The “Aerospace Corridor” autonomous transport system is expected to launch within the year and will be the first such project to operate commercially in Hong Kong. (Greater Bay Area Voice)
