Sales of home appliances, digital products, and smart devices exceeded 5.1 million units during this year’s Spring Festival holiday, representing a 21.7% increase from last year.
During this year’s nine-day Spring Festival holiday, sales of 6 categories of home appliances eligible for trade-in programs and 4 categories of digital and smart products eligible for new-purchase subsidies reached 5.106 million units, a 21.7% increase compared to the same period last year. By product category, smart glasses were included in the new-purchase subsidy program for the first time this year. During the recent Spring Festival holiday, inquiries and purchases of digital products saw significant growth in regions such as Tianjin, Chongqing, and Sichuan. At the same time, a clear trend toward the optimization and upgrading of consumption patterns emerged; data from the Ministry of Commerce shows that mid-to-high-end mobile phones accounted for 65.0% of sales. Data from China UnionPay shows that the average transaction value for computers, air conditioners, and televisions also saw a substantial increase compared to the same period last year.
