Ankita Amayuri of Pansun Macro noted that French consumer confidence rebounded in February, with consumption expected to see moderate growth later this year. The INSEE consumer confidence index rose to 91 from 90 in January. This rebound was driven by improved sentiment regarding personal financial situations and living standards. Inflation expectations have also declined. However, concerns about unemployment have resurfaced. Looking further ahead, real incomes are currently rebounding and will be further supported later this year as income tax brackets are set to be adjusted in line with inflation, which should help drive moderate consumption growth.
