Svmuu News: Richard Blumenthal, the Democratic leader of the U.S. Senate Committee on Homeland Security, has launched an investigation into alleged sanctions violations by Binance.Richard Blumenthal has written to Binance, inquiring about the alleged transfer of $1.7 billion to organizations linked to Iran. Richard Blumenthal has requested that Binance provide transaction records between the entities involved in the alleged fund transfers, as well as records of the suspension and dismissal of compliance personnel. U.S. investigators have determined that two entities transferred funds to Iran.In a reply, a Binance spokesperson stated that the previous report by The New York Times was inaccurate. Binance has strict KYC and compliance processes, and there are no Iranian users on the platform. Yesterday, Binance co-CEO Richard Teng posted on social media, stating, “Recent reports regarding Binance’s compliance program contain inaccuracies.The Wall Street Journal published defamatory statements, and despite our efforts to clarify the facts, the reporter did not respond to any of our corrections.
