Both sides emphasized that economic and trade cooperation is an important component of bilateral relations and expressed their willingness to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation. Both sides stressed that open dialogue, fair competition, and mutual market access are of paramount importance. The Chinese side noted that the German side attaches importance to issues such as “reducing dependence,” trade imbalances, and export controls, while the German side noted the Chinese side’s concerns regarding the “securitization” of economic and trade issues and export controls on high-tech products. Both sides expressed their willingness to properly address each other’s concerns through frank and open dialogue to ensure long-term, balanced, reliable, and sustainable economic and trade relations. The two prime ministers jointly attended a symposium of the Sino-German Economic Advisory Council and engaged in exchanges with representatives of business communities from both countries.
