Binance We have submitted a MiCA license application to Greece to advance our EU compliance and expansion efforts
Svmuu News: Richard Teng, co-CEO of Binance, revealed that the exchange submitted an application to Greek regulators last month to obtain an operating license under the EU’s Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation.MiCA requires crypto firms to obtain a license by July 2026 to operate within the EU. Teng noted that since MiCA licenses are standardized across Europe, multiple factors—including labor, talent pools, and security—must be considered comprehensively, making Greece a suitable base for EU expansion. The crypto market has experienced significant volatility over the past year, with Bitcoins falling approximately 50% from their October high of $126,000. Teng noted that while retail sentiment has weakened, institutional participation remains steady, adding that “smart money, institutional capital, and long-term funds continue to flow in.” (Finance Feeds)
