Zhou Hongyi: The U.S. government fabricated a large number of victims and pieces of evidence in the Chen Zhi case, with the ultimate goal of “legally” seizing $15 billion in assets
Svmuu News: Zhou Hongyi, founder of 360 Group, stated on his personal social media account that the migration of Bitcoin in the case involving Chen Zhi of Taizi Group took place in 2020, which coincided with Donald Trump’s first term in office. After Biden took office in 2021, the U.S. discovered that these coins were of unknown origin but did not immediately act to publicly seize them. Instead, the assets were kept in a state of technical dormancy under U.S. control for an extended period. It wasn’t until 2025, when Donald Trump took office again, that the U.S. government seized the opportunity to publicly announce the seizure of these assets. However, what is peculiar is that, according to the legal documents in the U.S. government’s indictment of Chen Zhi, no U.S. citizen had fallen victim to telecommunications fraud prior to the U.S. government’s theft of these digital assets. This is akin to shooting an arrow and then looking for a target; to put it more specifically, the U.S. has established a perfect closed-loop system of “attack, harvest, and evidence collection.”Even more ironic is that on October 8, 2025,after the U.S. Department of Justice released the indictment, several so-called victim compensation groups emerged within the U.S. However, a thorough analysis revealed that these claimants were all victims of telecom fraud between May 2020 and August 2022—a timeframe and flow of assets that do not align at all with this batch of Bitcoin. In other words, this batch of Bitcoin had already been stolen by hackers as early as December 2020 and had absolutely no connection to these so-called victims in the U.S.The so-called victims are merely being used as a backdrop to fabricate witness testimony for “legal forfeiture,” while the indictment itself is riddled with flaws and is a typical patchwork of evidence. For example, the “wall of phones” image in the indictment was actually taken in March 2023,which was used by our CCTV’s “3·15” consumer rights show to expose the criminal tools of online trolling gangs. The stools in the image are common and widely used domestically. Such elementary errors of misattribution expose not only the sloppiness of the evidence-gathering process but also the true intent of using the fight against crime as a pretext to conceal the essence of asset plunder. Therefore, the most terrifying aspect of state-sponsored attacks is not a single breach, but long-term infiltration and control. Once the rules and legal conditions are in place, the entire operation can be executed in one fell swoop. You may think they are cracking down on crime, but in reality, they are often turning others’ assets into their own “strategic reserves.”
