In February 2026, the crypto sector suffered $26.5 million in losses due to hacking attacks, a 98.2% decrease from the same period the previous year.
Svmuu News: According to PeckShield’s monitoring, confirmed losses from hacking attacks in the crypto industry in February 2026 totaled $26.5 million, marking the lowest figure since March 2025. A total of 15 attacks occurred in February, with total losses dropping 98.2% from $1.5 billion in February 2025 and 69.2% from $86 million in January 2026. The top five security incidents accounted for approximately $25.9 million in losses, representing over 98% of the month’s total losses. Among these, the Stellar ecosystem lending protocol YieldBlox lost $10 million due to oracle manipulation, while a security vulnerability in IoTeX’s ioTube bridge resulted in $88 million in losses. CrossCurve, FOOMCASH, and Moonwell suffered losses of $3 million, $2.3 million, and $1.8 million, respectively. Currently, $7.2 million has been frozen in the YieldBlox case, and the IoTeX Foundation has announced 100% compensation for affected ioTube users and has frozen 86% of the illicit tokens.
