Iran says the Strait of Hormuz is closed and "will not allow a single drop of oil to pass through"
Svmuu News: Ebrahim Jabari, an adviser to the commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, said Monday that the Strait of Hormuz has been closed, and that Iran will open fire on any ships attempting to pass through and will attack oil pipelines and oil transport routes. This is the clearest warning from Iran since it informed ships on Saturday that it would close this export route, a move that could disrupt one-fifth of global oil shipments and drive crude prices sharply higher. Speaking on state media, Jabari said, “The Strait of Hormuz is closed. If anyone attempts to pass through, the heroes of the Revolutionary Guards and the Regular Navy will set those ships ablaze. We will never allow a single drop of oil to leave the region… Oil prices could rise to $200 in the coming days.”
