Hackers are using the "ClickFix" attack method to impersonate venture capital firms in cryptocurrency scams
Svmuu News: A recent report by cybersecurity firm Moonlock Lab reveals that hackers are using the "ClickFix" attack method to impersonate venture capital firms in cryptocurrency scams. Scammers pose as VC firms such as SolidBit, contact potential victims via LinkedIn, and trick them into clicking on fake meeting links to execute malicious code. Meanwhile, the Chrome extension “QuickLens” has been hijacked to steal crypto wallet data and seed phrases. The “ClickFix” technique is particularly dangerous because it tricks users into executing malicious commands themselves, thereby bypassing standard security measures. Security experts warn that such attacks have targeted multiple industries since 2024, affecting thousands of devices worldwide every day. (Cointelegraph)
