Svmuu News CZ posted on platform X stating that block explorers should directly filter out spam transactions instead of displaying them to users, in order to reduce the risks associated with address poisoning attacks. He pointed out that such transactions can be relatively easily filtered out completely from a technical standpoint, and some wallet applications have already implemented similar features, such as Trust Wallet which filters related spam transactions.
CZ also mentioned that the practice of filtering spam transactions might have some impact on micro-payment transactions between AI agents in the future, but by then, AI technology could similarly be used to identify and filter out spam transactions. Previously, Etherscan had warned that address poisoning attacks on Ethereum are becoming more automated and common, with attackers typically using addresses forged to resemble real ones to trick users into mistakenly transferring funds.
