Analyst: Fed Meeting Expected to Be Overshadowed by Middle East Crisis
Svmuu News According to John Tyner, Head of Fixed Income at Aptus Capital Advisors, the Fed meeting will undoubtedly be somewhat overshadowed by the conflict in the Middle East and rising oil prices, but this meeting could determine the market's next direction. While rate cuts are no longer on the table, the market will focus on the dot plot, the divergence among Fed officials relative to the median forecast, and any wording hints in Chairman Powell's press conference about whether there is an intention to overlook price increases caused by commodity supply shocks. Following the surge in oil prices, the market has already canceled the two rate cut expectations priced in earlier this year, but if the conflict ends soon, these rate cut expectations will be rapidly repriced.
