Svmuu News: Tempo, a payment-focused blockchain jointly developed by Stripe and crypto investment firm Paradigm, has announced the launch of its mainnet, marking the official transition of its stablecoin payment system from the testing phase to practical application. Tempo focuses on high-throughput, low-cost transactions, aiming to make the stablecoin payment experience comparable to that of debit cards or bank transfers, while offering faster speeds and 24/7 availability. Since the public beta launched last December, institutions such as Mastercard, UBS, Klarna, and Visa have participated in testing scenarios including cross-border transfers and batch payments. The launch also introduces the Machine Payments Protocol, which allows AI agents to automatically complete payments without human intervention. This can be used for on-demand settlement of services such as data and computing power, driving the development of “Agentic Finance.” Tempo is also targeting traditional use cases such as cross-border remittances and large-scale payroll disbursements, aiming to reduce intermediary costs and improve efficiency through blockchain and stablecoins.
