A Kraken user fell victim to a social engineering attack, with hackers transferring 8,662 ETH to HitBTC
Svmuu News According to on-chain analyst Yu Jin's monitoring, a Kraken user is suspected to have been targeted by a social engineering attack, resulting in the theft of 8,662 ETH (worth $18.19 million). The attacker transferred all the stolen assets worth $18.19 million (7,784 ETH + 26.5 BTC) into the HitBTC exchange 6 hours ago, likely because HitBTC allows cryptocurrency trading and withdrawals without KYC.
