U.S. Media: U.S.-Iran Mediators Make Final Push for 45-Day Ceasefire
Svmuu News Four U.S., Israeli, and regional sources familiar with the negotiations revealed that the United States, Iran, and a group of regional mediators are discussing the terms of a potential 45-day ceasefire agreement, which could ultimately end the war. The sources stated that the possibility of reaching a partial agreement within the next 48 hours is slim, but this final effort is the only chance to prevent a sharp escalation of the conflict. President Trump's 10-day deadline for Iran was originally set to expire on Monday evening. However, on Sunday, Trump extended the deadline by 20 hours and announced a new cutoff time on his social media platform "Truth Social": 8 PM Eastern Time on Tuesday. Trump told AXIOS on Sunday that the U.S. is engaged in "in-depth negotiations" with Iran and suggested that an agreement could be reached before his deadline expires on Tuesday. (AXIOS)
